Art, Art...... and More Art!

Roxane and I headed to the Art Institute of Chicago today and managed to spend the entire day there. There are wonderful exhibits, from African art to Americana. Some of my favorites were the African masks and paintings from the great masters such as Gauguin, Monet and Renoir.

We had a great lunch on the terrace at the museum restaurant, and I even tried something I've never had before......fiddlehead ferns! They are actually quite tasty, or maybe it was all the good sauce they poured over them! I had to take a picture of my goat cheese stuffed chicken and fiddlehead ferns.....it was such a nice presentation! Check out the fountain that was in the center of the terrace. It was a lovely place for lunch!

After closing the museum down at five o'clock, we headed down the street to check out another public art exhibit just a block from our hotel. Unfortunately, we didn't get the name of the artist or the name of the exhibit, but it is pretty wild!

We've done a lot of walking and have seen so much in the last couple of days, but tomorrow it's time to head to Kansas City for the next part of our adventure....Surface Design Conference!

Stay tuned!
