The Majestic Bald Eagle

Eagle River is a very appropriate name for the town I live in. We see eagles on a regular basis around here, but the numbers greatly increase in the winter months. The freshly fallen snow and sub zero temperatures have dusted the trees with a heavy icing of frost, making a spectacular backdrop for the aerial display.

These bald eagles, along with a few ravens, have been putting on quite a show this week. They are such amazing and beautiful creatures to watch. So elegant as they glide across the sky with their graceful wings, and then in one quick swoop, aggressively take over a perch from another bird. Others just sit majestically on their perch and observe the action going on around them. It would be easy to sit and watch these birds for hours.........if it were a little warmer!
