Studio Tour

This past Saturday, The International Gallery of Contemporary Art organized a studio art tour, an event where several Anchorage area artists open their studios to the public. You can click here to see a list of the participating artists. Roxane, Jennifer and I had a great time visiting many studios.

It was very interesting to see how each artist organizes their space.... not to mention seeing some great art work, and visiting with the artists. Some studios were in the artist's home, some joined together and rented warehouse space, and others ranged from large warehouses to small offices.

After a wonderful afternoon, we ended the day at Jessica & Mark's house (daughter and son- in - law) for a delicious dinner. Stephanie and her daughter Katelin also joined us for an evening of good food and conversation.

While on the subject of studio tours, I thought I would post a few pictures of my studio. I really love being in my space........... and I'm actually making some progress!

Enjoy.........

My work table and fabric stash.....my friends tell me I need more fabric, but I think I have plenty!

My design wall (which is a bit chaotic right now), fabric dyes, paints, sink and storage........I can always use more storage!

Your studio looks wonderful. It is wonderful. Well organized, functional and well lit. Now if I could follow your lead that would be fantastic. Have fun creating in there.

You may not have the biggest stash of fabric, but what yo do with it is WONDERFUL!

I like the toilet seat cover you made. It looks like some sort of mask on the wall like that.

You must feel good to be back in such a nice studio space.

I wish I would've known about the tour. It sounds interesting.

Thanks, Roxane and Deb.

Watch for the studio tour next year, Deb...it's well worth it!
