Friends

Friend:  Confidant, chum, cohort, acquaintance, ally, buddy, pal.

Everyone needs friends. Someone to laugh with, share dreams, and even fears with.

I am blessed to have many wonderful friends in my life.  Some go way back, and some I’ve been lucky enough to meet in my adult years. Some are constant, some pass through at different stages of life.  Regardless of the circumstance, I feel very blessed and enriched to have friends in my life.

 Miles and life circumstances may cause us to lose touch through the years, but the true friendships remain.  One never knows what will spark a memory, but once the spark is ignited, even a deluge can't damper it.

A childhood friend e-mailed a photo that she had found from when we were very young. Oh, the memories that flooded through my mind!  We have shared many a laugh, and a few tears throughout the years.  Even though I lived in Pennsylvania and she lived in Minnesota, our friendship remained strong throughout our childhood.  We stood up for each other at our weddings, and then became immersed in our new lives as wives and mothers.

Time passes so quickly.  Although we haven’t seen each other in several years, I guarantee that if we were to see each other today, we would pick up right where we left off so many years ago.

Of course, I had to have a little fun with the original photo! I manipulated it in photoshop, then printed it on cotton and organza. Added a little paint and stitch, wool roving and beads, and there ya have it! What fun!

So, here’s to friends, old and new!
